Amnesty Thailand Members Vote for Adjustment of Membership Fees, Election of New Board of Directors and Increasing Proportion of Young Directors

 

Amnesty International Thailand held the 2017 annual general meeting on 1st July in order to present the performance of the previous year, elect the new board of directors  and approve the change of adjustment of membership fees and budget, and update the performance progress of Amnesty Thailand so that the members could acknowledge and determine the future human rights works. This year, the members exercised their rights to elect the board of directors and a treasurer, which were 3 positions in total substituting the vacating directors. The individuals newly elected to be the directors are Khun Apichat Pongsawat and Khun Parit Ratanakul Seriroengrit, with 37 and 22 votes, respectively. The meeting approved Mr. Ekachai Pinkaew as the treasurer of Amnesty Thailand. 

 

The latest list of the board of directors of Amnesty International Thailand includes

 

1) Khun Pornpen Kongkajornkiet, Chairperson of the Board;
2) Dr. Anticha Sangchai, Vice Chairperson;
3) Khun Apichat Pongsawat, Director;
4) Mr. Parit Ratanakul Seriroengrit, Director;
5) Khun Ekachai Pinkaew, Treasurer.

 

In addition, the meeting approved the amendment of 2 matters in the charter:

1) amendment of the type of member to 2 types: 1. students/university students (not above bachelor degree) and 2. general people,

2) adjustment of membership fees: 1. 200 baht per year for students/university students (not above bachelor degree), 2) 100 baht per month or 1,000 baht per year for general people

 

*effective from 1st July 2017. The members whose membership has not expired can enjoy the membership until expiration before paying the new membership rate.
